Winter is a very difficult time for the body. It is easy to catch a cold and the gloomy weather outside has a negative impact on your mood. Check which natural products will help you maintain high immunity and fight fatigue

1. Cinnamon and ginger

Let’s start with the real treasures of mother nature, namely herbs. Admittedly, it is difficult to grow them in winter, although less demanding ones, such as basil, marjoram or mint, can be planted in a pot and kept at home. Cinnamon and ginger are best dried in advance and stored in glass containers or bags

These herbs have a warming effect and additionally help in the fight against viruses. In addition, they affect immunity, stimulate blood circulation, improve digestion and relieve joint pain. They can be used both with different kinds of food and in tea.

2. Garlic

Inhibiting the growth of bacteria, fighting infections, antibacterial, antiviral and warming effects… Garlic is definitely unbeatable during autumn and winter. It is a great cure for colds and also tastes good and gives a unique aroma. You can consume it in the form of syrup or tincture, as an addition to meals, marinated … You can choose from any variety!

3. Pickles

Cucumbers, cabbage, beets, turnips, zucchini – practically all vegetables are suitable for pickling. Food processed in this way is the so-called natural probiotic because it contains lots of vitamins, strengthens immunity, and eliminates toxins from the body. Pickling is also a way to save money – when vegetables and fruits start getting more expensive for the winter, all you have to do is open a jar.

4. Honey

Like garlic, honey also helps fight disease. On cold days, the lime or multi-flower versions do particularly well – both soothe lower respiratory tract infections, strengthen the body, and improve mood. What is more, you can use honey on lips chapped from the frost

5. Aloe vera

If the condition of your hands often deteriorates in winter and you notice that the skin begins to crack, becomes red and dry – lubricate it with aloe vera. This versatile moisturizer deeply penetrates the skin, thus hydrating it properly. You can also drink aloe vera in the form of juice, which strengthens the immune system and relieves rhinitis

6. Aronia

There is a reason why chokeberry belongs to superfoods, i.e. foods that have a very positive impact on human health. This is because it contains:

  • vitamins C, B2, B3, B9 and E,
  • bioflavonoids,
  • calcium, magnesium, iron, potassium and zinc,
  • it also contains anthocyanins, i.e. substances improving the condition of blood vessels.

For this reason, chokeberry has long been used to cure colds and warm up the body on cold days. Chokeberry fruits can be consumed directly or in the form of tincture, jam, tea, etc

Caution: avoid chokeberries if you suffer from ulcers, stomach acid, varicose veins or low blood pressure.

7. Onions

Although onions are mostly associated with cooking, they also have health-promoting effects. The syrup made of it soothes a sore throat and cough, and the pickled version is a natural source of probiotics. Dishes containing onions have more vitamins A, B, and C, as well as magnesium and iron.
